I was commissioned by Nature Baby to bring their new look campaign for their Spring Summer ‘24/25 “Between the Beginning of Dreams” to life in video form. We filmed the collection pieces with children across three studio shoot days, and then the challenge was to show the connection between the children and nature without ever actually seeing the children outside.

Capturing the campaign on iPhone 15 Pro Max with additional accessories (lens filters, etc) mean’t I had the agility and flexibility to work independently to capture the best weather, light and locations without the confines of a pre-planned one-off shoot day.

I was still able to use accessories (such as a black mist filter) to soften the sometimes too-sharp look of iPhone footage and I also filmed in a Pro-Res flat profile meaning colour grading was a dream and we had flexibility to recreate a 16mm film look (and avoid the ‘UGC-shot-on-iPhone look).

Additional footage was shot by Carter Were in Byron Bay who also collaborated on the photography in the campaign alongside Derek Henderson. Creating a social first video strategy made it possible to work collaboratively with Carter, even though we were on opposite sides of the Tasman Sea.
